Objectives of the FSC Oman 40 Index and Criteria
The “FSC OMAN 40 INDEX” was launched in 2022, and September 29, 2022 was chosen as the base period for calculating the index (the base value of 1000 as a standard number for the base year). The index sample consists of 40 companies (three years for their financial statements) at the level of the market as a whole, characterized by high liquidity and profitability in the Muscat Stock Exchange.
The " FSC OMAN 40 INDEX" is the first and only index, whose number of companies exceeded the Muscat Stock Exchange index by 10 companies.
It is an indicator that follows the sectoral methodology of the process of selecting companies suitable for their presence in the index, in addition to the liquidity and capital of the company.
The index sample is reviewed and amended in the first half of each year, after issuing the audited financial statements for the companies.

Criteria for selecting the “FSC OMAN 40 INDEX” sample on the Muscat Securities Exchange:
It is possible to add or delete any company to/from the index sample according to the evaluation obtained by the companies from applying the basic criteria that were set for selecting the companies included in the index sample.
Revision and amendment of the “FSC OMAN 40 INDEX”
The companies included in the "FSC OMAN 40 INDEX" sample are evaluated annually by applying the mentioned criteria.
